Griffins by blitterbug Griffins by blitterbug
Not the best photo given the originally low resolution, but these are my two ceramic griffins (well, one griffin and one opinicus). They were made with JB3 porcelaneous stoneware and had about 50+ hours of work in each. The griffin (back) is 50cm long; the opinicus (front) is 60cm long. They were finished with a variety of oxide washes and underglaze, more roughly than I would have wished. Having my griffin put aside in the kiln area for three weeks without being fired kind of destroyed any option of doing detailed 'painting'.

WHOA 50+ hours? That's crazy! But they turned out great!
Also, yay, I don't see much opinicus art.
Or keythong art. :giggle:
